Bruno Berthier
Common Ground
10/2-10/25, 2026

Bruno Berthier (1987) is a self-taught visual artist and sociologist from Mexico City. His work as an artist focuses on exploring the boundaries between abstract and figurative representations through painting. Blending thick impasto textures with flattened perspectives and vibrant blocks of primary colors, his paintings capture introspective landscapes and portraits with a rich, expressive palette.
In Common Ground—his first solo exhibition in New York City—Berthier draws from his sociological curiosity of everyday life. In this collection of vivid and intimate portraits and scenes, he abstractly translates his subjects’ interiority in a way that connects profoundly to our shared experience.
